Carrot cake 2

Hi Dears,

I brought today another carrot cake recipe, I recently baked it for one of my colleague's farewell party. It's a little bit different from my first one.
(If you wish to compare, click here.)

You have might realized that I stopped posting recipes here this year, the reason is that I am quite busy to try out and make experiments with new recipes. I do bake regularly, but I tend to bake my favorite recipes over and over with only slight changes.
The reason of my busyness, is that I have started another school, this time I study graphic design, where I can develop my artistic skills. :)
You can view my continuously growing art portfolio here:

Also, I have found a new hobby, while I am taking care of a lovely dwarf hamster. I started making  short videos of him, with gentle music in the background. The aim is to create something cute, funny, calming and safe for children to watch.
If you wish to check them click: Hamster Tales
Now let's get back to the cake...

Little pies

Hi Dears,
I brought a new recipe for pies, and great personal news!
I am the chosen cook of the week on the biggest Hungarian recipe sharing site - at Nosalty.hu! Yay! A whole article is about me, with my cakes... http://www.nosalty.hu/ajanlo/het-szakacsa-habcsok-mezi

But this recipe of the pies is only Yours, it's not on that site, yet. :D
I baked them in muffin trays, but You can bake it in one big tart form, if you prefer those. I used fresh fruits for the filling, and the result was really tasty.

4 pastries with 1 dough

Hello Guys!
Today I will show a fabulous, multifunctional dough, that we can use for dozens of pastries. Both for sweet and salty.
And what's even better, this is the original recipe that most of the pastry shops use as well. I learnt it in the confectioner school, and the professional name is the"Blundel- dough "

The pastries that I show here are the mini versions of the original recipes, as I thought these are more edible in small sizes if you are serving them for guests.

My boyfriend was amazed how quick I could present 4 really different pastries which tasted so good, and they looked nice as well.
Finally, I could feel proud. :D (You know it's still hard to compete with his mother and grandmother in baking projects... I can thank this to my confectionery studies. :) )

Chestnut Cake

Hi Dears!
I brought You one of my favorite cake, the one with chestnut purée and whipped cream. The sponge is a brown cocoa sponge cake, which is cut to 3 layers, and filled with this chestnut cream.
The taste is amazing, the preparation is easy, so I can only recommend this recipe. :)
I was playing with the decoration, I hope I didn't overdo it. :D
I decorated it with chestnut hearts, which have a circle of chocolate on them, and I draw chocolate pastilles on it, with a twist of the other cake, the Eszterházy's style
Let's see the preparation...

Confectionery studies - 10th week

Hi Dears!
I haven't posted of the last 5 weeks of my studies, as this period was so busy with all the Holidays, exams and working in the Café.

But now I will show you the details, because these courses were really exciting, and I learnt many many tasty desserts.

This is the second post about cakes. We learnt 7 different cakes that day. (I haven't got the chance to make a photo of the 7th, as it was quickly cut and we ate it... :) )

Yogurt & Chocolate cake 2 in 1

Hi! :)
As I promised I brought the recipe of this yin-yang cake I baked last time!
To be honest, I haven't decided yet, if I like the result or not.
I wanted to make something different, than usual, something more interesting, and I think it worked. :)
Untill the yogurt solidified with the gelatin, I had placed a baking sheet in the middle to separate it from the chocolate part.
It needed a night to cool in the fridge.
I baked this for my father's, my brother's and for my birthdays, as we celebrated together. :)

3 cakes with one sponge

Hello Dears!
I hope You enjoyed the summer, to finish it nicely I brought not just one, but 3 cakes for You! :)

As for us, we had our late-summer vacation last week, for 4 days.
It was short but we filled it with very-many adventures. :)
It rained for two days, but we still could go sight-seeing, and to bathhouses, and we even took a little fairy train ride in the forest, so it was super joyful.

When we arrived back home, a birthday party was ahead of us, with 3 birthdays to celebrate, so I jumped in a baking project again.
As we hold it as a pic-nic party in the Margaret-island, I tried to prepare them to be easily take-aways
I used one main mixture, and as a last touch I flavored them differently. :)
Let's see how...

Pink sponge rolls

Hi Dears!
As I promised yesterday on our FB page, I have brought today a sponge roll recipe!
I'm not usually a pink wearing person, but in the summer even that can change...  This is a happy color, so I thought that a dessert  like this would be cute.
The cream and the sponge are so light, they melt in your mouth,
I made the rolls for my friends, as we were having a pic-nic in the City Park, which is by the way one of the most beautiful place in Budapest, with a castle, a lake and with a nice park. After that we headed to the Scorpions concert , so a bit rock was a nice contrast to this pink dessert. :D

Cini Minis ~ Chocolate Bites

Hi Dears! :)
I brought You little chocolaty bites! Sugar free!!! :D
(Well, almost... let's say it's doesn't contain the regular sugar quantity. :) )
Why is that?
I think I have to be more careful, and be on a little diet.
As I thought being a hotel receptionist, I'm standing 9 hours daily, which needs physical effort, I ehought it would burn some calories...
Yeah, the only problem it is not. I am tired of course after work, so I can't really do any more sports these days, just laying on the bed, reading and stuff.
So, I need to reduce the calories, and as I won't stop baking I used sweetener.
I was afraid of it for a bit, I thought it would change the flavors, but it didn't.

Orange Muffin

Hi Dears! :)
Happy May to You!
Do You have any special customs for this month?
We have a holiday on the 1st of May, the Day of the Work.
/Some traditions we did not delete from the communist times/
There used to be a happy festival on the main streets/avenues, where all the big companies represented themselves with their workers, and their families. Music, songs, May Day, cheering for the presidents, plus sausages & beer were the main characteristics of this day, until the 80'-90-es.
Nowadays we have a day off from work, have a May-day picnic, and we are with our families. Some gentlemen prepare a May tree for their loved ones.
(You know a high tree with colorful ribbons) We used to make that in primary school. :)

So me as well, I visited my lovely family, therefor, I baked muffins.
These orange muffins, and some chocolate chip muffins for those who prefer non-fruity cakes. :D

Happy Pudding Brownie

Hello Dears!
Guess what You will get from me! ;)
I have a bunch of Easter dessert recipes for You!
So I will try to post every other day a dessert until Monday, so when the little boys and the gentlemen are coming to us on Monday we  will be prepared with a lot of goodies.
This brownie is enhanced with two kinds of puddings, vanilla and strawberry. So the cake will be mottled with rosy and yellow creams, which make it happy-Easter looking, having the atmosphere of decorated Easter eggs. :)
Plus, this recipe is really easy, and quick! :)

Eszterházy Cake

Hi Dears, and Welcome to the 100. post of Hungarian Food Guide! :D

Let's celebrate this milestone with one of the most popular cakes of Hungary, the well-known Eszterházy cake, that I actually baked for my favorite future to be Mother-in-law's birthday.

It's soft, creamy, and has a lot of walnut in it, which makes it really tasty, and as You can see, on top it has a significant decoration with white and brown chocolate. You can taste it in every confectioneries, but home-made is always better :).

We have a National Holiday as well today, because it's the 15th of March, the celebration of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848 for democracy and freedom.

So , let's see the cake's recipe...

Hajnalka Creamy Cake

Hey Guys! :)
I hope You all right. I'm happy to post this cake recipe with You today!
I wasn't posting for a while... I was preparing for my biggest exam in my life. It will be in a week.
Cross fingers for me please! It will be my diploma exam! :)

So what about this cake?
This was the most delicious cake that I've ever invented!!! We had it for Christmas, but somehow I forgot my little note on this, and now I found it! :D
It has so many great ingredients in it, that I couldn't find a suitable name for it. Could be chocolate liquor creamy cake, but it has nut cream and jam as well, and coconut on the top, so it was hard to find a name for this marvelous piece of Heaven...

So, not to be too selfish, but as the most famous cakes of Hungary are named of their inventors, (like Dobos, Gundel, Rákóczi...) I named it after me. :D

Please enjoy the "Hajnalka Creamy Cake" , and bake it, if You would like to feel to be in Heaven   for about 3 seconds, till You eat the piece. :D

Chocolate Creamy Cake

Happy New Year Dears! :)
I hope You had a memorable Christmas, with tasty goodies and cookies. :)
Now, as we are over the celebrations, and the big eating-parties, I started to work out. Haha... :D That's always my solution for the little extra weight I get during December. I can't do a diet... How can someone resist all these cakes ?
I think sport is enough to have a good shape. :)

So let's talk about this cake. I baked this for my last day at work, because I finished my trainee program. :) I was a receptionist  at Marriott from July, so it was a great half-year duty. It was interesting and fun, sometimes tiring, and complicated, but it was worth it. It gave me enough experience to get to know the hotel industry. Now I have to prepare for my diploma exam.
Please think and cheer for me at the end of the month! :D  And what shall I do after?
Let's see it then... :D
This cake was chocolaty, and inside it had 2 kinds of creams, one was pudding-like, the other was with self-made chocolate-liquor. :) Yum.
On the top and the bottom, there are two kinds of sponges.

Hello Dears,
Sorry for my absence, I missed You and blogging, however I had tons of work to do... But luckily I finished my thesis for my diploma! :D
- picture of it at the end of the post -
So let's go back baking. :)
Here's another apple pie! :)  (this was last years).
This time it has a net decoration on the top. It's a little bit flat but it was really delicious! :)
♥○○○♥ It could be nice for the Holidays as well. :)  ♥○○○♥

Vanilla baskets with pomegranate

Hello!
How are You? I feel  really sad these days, but as I have a lot desserts from last week, I came to share it. It makes me busy and cheers me up a bit.
Like these vanilla baskets, the inspiration came from the famous Creme brulée-s.
The basket is made of cookie pastry, in the middle there is vanilla cream, on the top a tablespoon of baked egg white foam, and of course pomegranates.

Cake with Cocoa Rolls

Hello! How are You? :)

I have big changes in my life. I moved in with my boyfriend ♥ (partly). So that's the reason of my missing, and another, that because of the lots of packing I lost some of my recipes...

But don't worry, I have them now. :) So for example this cake was my idea to bake. I thought it would be like the Cocoa rolls from the bakeries, but actually it tastes more like a dense cake.

Chocolate Croissant

Hello Dears,

Tomorrow is the 20th of August, one of the biggest celebration in Hungary.
The anniversary of the foundation of the country, so we will have great programs throughout the city. :) And at night there is a 30 minutes long firework show.  We have this every year, so if You would like to visit Hungary someday You can choose these times as well.

But for now, I brought some home-made Chocolate Croissants. They are flavored with a pinch of cinnamon, so their fragrance was truly amazing when they came out of the oven. :) Try them! :)

Lemon slices

Hello! :)
Have You realized that it's August already? Time flies too fast.
If You haven't enjoyed summer yet this year, go ahead, go to a beach, explore a city, or relax for a moment with a good novel, to have some good memories.
Or if You already did that, bake a cake like this, to make Your holiday sweeter. :)

It's a crater kind of cake, it means that inside the sponge some tablespoons of  pudding can be found, that was spooned randomly to the batter.
I have a chocolate crater cake recipe on this page as well, if You would like to see that. :)
These one, the Lemon slices much more fit to summer. Enjoy!

Banana Cupcake Monsters

Yay! I did all my exams!!!  :D
(I'm still waiting for the result of the last one, but I'm not worried about  that.)

So, I thought it was time for me to bake something FUNNY, and these
Banana Cupcake Monsters were born. :)

I even made a video for You, which can be found below. :)
Oh it's so great feeling vacation time. Happy Summer to All of You! :)
