4 pastries with 1 dough

Hello Guys!
Today I will show a fabulous, multifunctional dough, that we can use for dozens of pastries. Both for sweet and salty.
And what's even better, this is the original recipe that most of the pastry shops use as well. I learnt it in the confectioner school, and the professional name is the"Blundel- dough "

The pastries that I show here are the mini versions of the original recipes, as I thought these are more edible in small sizes if you are serving them for guests.

My boyfriend was amazed how quick I could present 4 really different pastries which tasted so good, and they looked nice as well.
Finally, I could feel proud. :D (You know it's still hard to compete with his mother and grandmother in baking projects... I can thank this to my confectionery studies. :) )

Confectionery studies - 7th week

Hello! :)
Last week we studied a bunch of Puff pastries. It means, that the pastries has many layers when they baked. We can reach that, if we use folding Technics, and two different dough.

The main ingredients for the dough (in portions): 1 flour, 1 butter, 0.5 water, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp vinegar.

Salty sticks and biscuits

Hey Guys!
I am obsessed with my new cookie-cutter stampers that I ordered through ebay...
I have a collection now, like I have cat molds, Marie cat face from Disney, animal molds, Easter set, flower set, and now I tried my fruit and summer collection that just arrived.
I made a super easy, comfort food, You can call them snacks as well. The main taste is salty, but they are enhanced with cumin, that I love in snacks. :)

Frankfurter Croissant

Hey Guys! :)I hope You are doing and feeling fine!
I'm happy to announce that I am busy again. (The reason is that I finally have a job again, where I am working in a small restaurant :) )
+  there was another big happening around here, which is a secret for now, but I will tell it later.
But still, I have time for baking, since this is my favorite hobby, so now I brought a salty-sausage - filled little croissant recipe.
Mines bursted a bit, but they were super tasty! ;)
Let's see how it was done...

Cottage Cheese Biscuits "Túrós pogácsa"

Hi Dears! :)
I hope You are fine, and You can enjoy the beautiful flowers around You.
I got so pretty tulips, roses, bromeliads for women's day that our kitchen is like a fairyland now. :D
(A lot of thanks for the gentlemen of the family and friends for that. :D)
- I will make a photo of  them tomorrow I promise, and post it on Facebook, because now it's evening and it's too dark. -

Also, I have an even BIGGER milestone to announce!
I had my Graduation on Saturday! YAY! I made it. 3 and a half year of full of studying.
You know, tourism and catering.  I'm now an Economist. :)
Sounds so clever. :D
-photo will be of me at the end of the post-
The only thing I'd like now is a great job. Cross fingers for me, pls. :D

OK, let's speak about this biscuit, it's one of my usual recipe for salty snack. The cottage cheese makes it even more soft, so I recommend using it! :)

Cheesy snail crackers

Hello Guys!
I hope everything is fine there! :)
I have big news!!! So, first of all -- as You might have seen it on our Fb page -- I passed successfully my biggest exam ever - and graduation is coming! :D
So I've become an Economist, specialized in catering and hotel management.
I am so happy. :) And my thesis was so powerful, that I just got an invitation from another 5-star-hotel to participate in a cooking class, as a blogger!
One of my class mate suggested me after hearing my diploma work about gastro-blogs.

But for now, I'm looking for suitable jobs for me. It's always an exciting time, deciding what to do in the future. Where to go?
And then apply and wait for the responses... Just exciting! :)

Also, I have great ideas about developing this site. You will see how. :)

And of course I bake quite a lot, and I have a lot of recipes to share, like this Cheesy Snail cracker. As I see in Your countries You usually call these something "rolls" but here we always call these rolled eatable foods "snails". However, the actual snail is not common here as a dish. And honestly, I would never try it. :) Have You eaten a real one? :)

Big Sandwich

Happy Halloween! :)
Do You celebrate it? Here we don't really. Of course there are some Halloween themed parties around the city, but for the fun part, children don't gather sweets with 'Trick or Treats'
However I would love to create some tricks if I were younger. :D

Usually the All Hallows' Day spirit enhance the previous days here, and we go to graveyards for visiting loved relatives.

Maybe in some years, we will have the Halloween part as well, with all those funny sweets as well.

And I created this Very Big Sandwich a while ago. I saw it on Facebook many pages, so I decided I had to try it. :)
I  bought a big loaf of bread, bacon, cheese and onion and gave it a go. :D Usually we (4 people in the family) don't eat 1 kg of bread in once, but we ate this one in secs. So be careful with this, if You are on a diet! :D

Potato Pasta

Hello Dears! :)
To continue the Hungarian main courses list on the new page here, I brought an easy dish with the use of the Hungarian paprika as well.
This is one of the easiest  and the less expensive dish of all, so that's why it's one of the most popular. And we love it, it taste so good.
(Only it's full of carbohydrate  so if You're on a diet, this one is not for You...)

Little Potato Pie

Hello! :) This time I brought You a real Hungarian speciality, a salty, little potato pie, "Krumplis Laska" or "Lepényke".

That is a typical dish in 'Palóc' folk region where my mother and her relatives are endemic. :) It's in the North of Hungary, and in the South of Slovakia.

My mother was happy, when she got her first piece of it, because the last time she had this, her grandmother made it a long time ago...

Although the preparation is a bit longer than expected (I guess I started with too large amount of ingredients) , however the taste worth the time to make it. :)

Pogácsa - real Hungarian scones

For about 6 years, I've been experiencing with creating the perfect, soft 'Pogácsa'  scones recipe.

This is a very common bakery product here, and I bet elsewhere, too.
For example there are bakeries in every metro-stations which are specialised in 'pogácsa' -s , and there is a big competition between them , who makes the perfect one. It's a great business for them, because the wonderful fragrance attracts the passengers, and many of them buy there something, even if they hadn't planned, before.

But this recipe can be among the competitors, too! I wasn't the creator of this, but it is one of my Dearest grand-aunt's recipe, I tried it and it's perfect!!! :) So big thank you, for the wonderful taste! ♥

Little Cheesy Scones - Pogácsa

LITTLE CHEESY SCONES

This is my favourite scone-recipe, it is called “pogácsa” or “pogi” in Hungarian. I’ve been bakng it for about 8 years, minimum. You can’t stop eating this, if you started…
