Carrot cake 2

Hi Dears,

I brought today another carrot cake recipe, I recently baked it for one of my colleague's farewell party. It's a little bit different from my first one.
(If you wish to compare, click here.)

You have might realized that I stopped posting recipes here this year, the reason is that I am quite busy to try out and make experiments with new recipes. I do bake regularly, but I tend to bake my favorite recipes over and over with only slight changes.
The reason of my busyness, is that I have started another school, this time I study graphic design, where I can develop my artistic skills. :)
You can view my continuously growing art portfolio here:

Also, I have found a new hobby, while I am taking care of a lovely dwarf hamster. I started making  short videos of him, with gentle music in the background. The aim is to create something cute, funny, calming and safe for children to watch.
If you wish to check them click: Hamster Tales
Now let's get back to the cake...

Baking our wedding cake ♥

Hello Friends!
The most beautiful day in my life (so far) was in June, we got married with the love of my life.
I was so excited, I wanted to do nearly everything by myself, the decor, the organizing, and yes... The cake! Now I wouldn't suggest it to any brides to bake their own wedding cake, as the days before the big day are already stressful enough, but it was so nice that I could tell to our guests, that I BAKED IT
The cake itself was a 4 layered cake, each layer with different tastes. And I baked a separate gluten-free cake, about 50 muffins for the dessert table and 160 heart shaped gingerbread as Thank you gifts.
Yes, I know, I am weird to do all this, but I loved baking them. The most stressful part of this was the way to the venue, as we had to deliver all this with our car, with the rest of the decoration and wedding dress. Fortunately, we could divide all these in two cars.
So, In this post I will show you more details how I baked this huge cake, and the rest of the sweets. (And some insight into our wedding)

Peach cake with marzipan coverage

Hi Dears,
So I'm back from our 3-day-long holiday, we were at Lake Balaton, as You might know it from our FB page (where we can meet almost everyday, come and join :) )
But, before that we celebrated my Mother's birthday, and I baked here a light, summertime Peach cake. I covered it with yellow marzipan, and decorated it with marzipan flowers that I cut out with my new flower mold fondant cutters.
(I ordered it from ebay, 4 pieces for just 1 dollar or so, and they make life so much easier, I love them. :) )

Sacher Cake with cherries

Hi Dears!
As I hinted before on our FB page, we have cake anarchy here... This is the third cake in a row, and let me tell you a secret... There will be a 4th coming soon! :D
Yes, there are way too many celebrations in my family during March...
4 name days, 3 birthdays...
This special Sacher Cake was my lovely Grandfather's. He doesn't like creamy cakes, he said he loved the cakes which he could bite  in the middle. So that's why Sacher cake with it's chocolaty sponge and jam in the middle is perfect for the occasion. And to enhance the flavors, I put cherries in the sponge, to make it a little bit lighter. Plus as a decoration on the top I used dried apricots, which were soaked previously in rum & milk. Yum! And of course I am mastering the Technic of making marzipan flowers, so this cake has a lot of them to be pretty. :D
If You would like to get the original recipe for Sacher, I already have that post, just click here.
Now let's see the preparation for this cake...

Lúdláb Cake alias "Goose Leg Cake"

Hi Dears! :)
So, recently I have become a full-time cake baker...
No, not really, but it's true, that during 1-2 weeks time I baked 3 big cakes. :)
This one was for my boyfriend's grandmother. :)
You might ask why it is called as Goose Leg. It is actually really strange, because it has nothing to do with geese, and even less with legs...
But now I read a little bit on this subject, and there are several answers.
First of all, it is the best when using real eggs from the cottages, which has orange yolks, just like the geese's legs, that makes our mixture at the beginning  beautifully yellow.
The second solution, is that we slice the cake up in a triangle shape, quite similar to the leg of the goose
(I might add that we do that we every circle shaped cake through out the world, so I don't really think this would be the one)
The third thing is quite possible, that in the old times, this cake was the most popular during the ceremonies of Saint Martin, in autumn, when every dish has something to do with geese. This fashion remained, still now as well. :)

Anyway, it's tasty, and we could call it as well as a Chocolate Mousse Cake with sour cherries if You don't like to call it Goose Leg Cake. :D
One more tip: it is best to serve after cooling it in the fridge for a night
(True story, I didn't have time to make it one day before the celebration, I just cooled it for about 4 hours, and after serving it, it began to melt, and slowly ran away from the plate. :D It would have been great if we have put that in the fridge straight away. :) )

Eszterházy Cake

Hi Dears, and Welcome to the 100. post of Hungarian Food Guide! :D

Let's celebrate this milestone with one of the most popular cakes of Hungary, the well-known Eszterházy cake, that I actually baked for my favorite future to be Mother-in-law's birthday.

It's soft, creamy, and has a lot of walnut in it, which makes it really tasty, and as You can see, on top it has a significant decoration with white and brown chocolate. You can taste it in every confectioneries, but home-made is always better :).

We have a National Holiday as well today, because it's the 15th of March, the celebration of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848 for democracy and freedom.

So , let's see the cake's recipe...

Coffee Brownie

Hello! :)
I hope You can spare a little time, when the weather is fine, to go out a bit to the nature. I love the autumn colors and I would love to go out! :)

It's a pity that this year I'm writing my thesis every single day when I'm not at work so I can only go out to the garden. Which is beautiful as well, as You can see. :)
I baked this Brownie for my best friend, as we haven't met for months, so it would have been a shame for me, if I didn't bake anything for her.
So autumn gave me the inspiration, and this Coffee Brownie happened, as I had some leaf-shaped cookies with me.
It was sweet, soft and delicious. Give it a try! :)

Sacher Cupcake

Hello Again! :)

I've chosen to be the representative of Hungary in an international recipe eBook. Yay! :D
(I don't know how popular  a recipe eBook can be nowadays? Personally, I haven't got any... And to be honest I don't have an eBook reader, neither. I prefer reading real books. But still... This makes me so proud. :D )

And as I have found my lost recipes, I can share them with You now. :) Like this Sacher Cupcakes.
I made them for my colleagues' birthday, which was one day before mine, so we had a group celebration at the hotel. And the inspiration came also from them, as my colleague has a secret Sacher recipe...
I don't know if I can tell the secret, but... Here is it:
Step 1: Grab the brownie from the canteen.
Step 2: Cut it up horizontally.
Step 3: Fill it with jam.
That's it... :D
So, honestly, mine is a little bit more complicated,  as we didn't have brownies at home, just simply ready.
But it's easy, and fun. And as I have a Sacher Cake on the blog with the original recipe (You can check) I decided to make them in cupcakes. :) Cheers!

Coffee & Marzipan Biscuits with chocolate on top

Hi! :)
Do You like biscuits?
This one I baked for our 4th anniversary for my boyfriend.
Usually I bake a cake, or cupcakes for these events, but this time I decided to bake heart shaped biscuits. I think they are cute enough for the occasion. :D
He likes coffee, I like marzipan, and we both adore chocolate, so this recipe needed to happen. :)
(I got roses from him, and also we decided to live together, so it was a big event. :) )
The biscuit got a lot of good complaints, so I can recommend this to You as well. :)
