Snowballs

Awh.. Sweet snowballs, a quick dessert without baking or cooking. 

And such fun, to create little snowmen, too! :) Do you like snow?

Personally I love it when it falls, and it's great joy to go out and play with it and  with friends. Too bad I have only one week left of my 'after exams holiday' and the weather isn't snowy...  While I wasn't sledging I created this snowy dessert. Check it out! ;)

Butterbeer

Who isn't familiar with this expression - Butterbeer? I think everybody knows it from Harry Potter. I would always loved to try it when I read about it. So, I managed to do it. Come and see the recipe! :) It's child-friendly! 

Gluttonous Thursday - discounted prices in restaurants

This is a common tradition here, for 8 years, many-many restaurants accepts to be in a program, for 1 day in a year, they offer their menu, and plates for half prices. Cool, hah? Of course You need to register earlier to get a seat, because it's a popular event, but it's totally worth it.

This Year it will be on the 31th of January 2013, because the regular date will be too close to Valentine's Day which also a popular date for restaurants. 

Cocoa Charlotte

This cake looks so special, like a nice brown half-ball. I made it for my brother and my birthday. (We always celebrate together) And with this recipe I've been selected to win a present at a competition. :) I'm still waiting for the package, it should come soon.

Pogácsa - real Hungarian scones

For about 6 years, I've been experiencing with creating the perfect, soft 'Pogácsa'  scones recipe. 

This is a very common bakery product here, and I bet elsewhere, too.

For example there are bakeries in every metro-stations which are specialised in 'pogácsa' -s , and there is a big competition between them , who makes the perfect one. It's a great business for them, because the wonderful fragrance attracts the passengers, and many of them buy there something, even if they hadn't planned, before.

But this recipe can be among the competitors, too! I wasn't the creator of this, but it is one of my Dearest grand-aunt's recipe, I tried it and it's perfect!!! :) So big thank you, for the wonderful taste! ♥

My struggle with the macarons...

They look quite right, huhh? OK not the exact macaron shape, but they could be just right...

But no... I had a big fight with them...

The perfect pancake - basic recipe

Yesterday my family wanted some pancakes, and I felt like "YAY" I love them! 

I had to bake 200 pancakes/day during my summer internship in a kitchen of a hotel, so this is not a challenge for me, but it is for my brother.

So I decided to teach him a bit. It can be useful for any men to know the perfect amounts of the ingredients to get this delicious dessert. :)  

I realised that in the USA the old-fashioned pancake is different, much thicker than ours, but here in Hungary this recipe is the most popular - slim but many pancakes! :)

Coconut muffins

These little sweet muffins are so delicious! And easy  to make. :) As easy, that I baked it right after waking up, half asleep. I just wanted to bake something for my sweetheart for our one-day-long trip to the mountains. The trip was awesome, Budapest is really pretty when it's snowy, and the muffins were tasty, too. Great combination! :)

Vargabéles - Hungarian sweet noodle cake with curd cheese

This is one of the Hungarian specialities, a  very common cake here. I don't know, whether You know this cake or not. Do You? :)

I learnt the recipe during my cooking lessons in the University. I made it many times since then, too. :)

Mini Apple tarts

If You have just a little time to do something delicious, I suggest You making this tasteful , and fruity tart. No hustle and bustle, just an easy sponge, enhanced with good spices, and some juicy apples from the chamber. My guests loved it! :)
