Gingies - How to make gingerbreads?

I tried many gingerbread recepies, I also invented some, and this is one appealed to me the most. The cookies are soft, and yummy. This year I will bake them again! :)

  • 80 g margarine
  • 60 g sugar
  • 3 yolks of the eggs
  • 1 Ts orange flavor
  • 200 g honey
  • 2 Ts gingerbread spice (or ginger and cinnamon)
  • 1 Ts cocoa
  • little salt 
  • 400 g flour
  • 1 Ts baking powder
  • 1 lemon - grated peel
  • 200 g icing sugar + 1 albumin of the egg + orange and peanut flavor or food colouring


Melt the margarine and mix it with the yolks, and the sugar.

Add the honey, the orange flavor, the spices, cocoa, and a litlle salt.

Mix the flour to the baking powder, than add them to the pastry.
 Rasp a lemon peel, and knead the pastry into a ball.
Put it to the fridge, for 30 minutes.
Separate it for 3 sections, roll them out for about 4 mm , and cut shapes from it, as you like, it depends on the shapes You have at home.
(If you haven't got any, you can easily use a glass, to cut circles, and some glass has got a nice footing, which you can use as a press)

Use a baking sheet, pour it some flour, and put here the cutted pastries.

Preheat the oven.
Bake them for 10 minutes in small flames (170 C) and continue with the next portion! :)

Mix the albumin with the icing sugar. You can add some flavors, or coloring too, and you can decorate the gingerbreads as you wish. (with a foam bag, or with a perforated nylon bag)
