Cheesy puffs

Hey, hello Everyone! :)
How are You doing this Sunday?
I was planning to have a nice walk in downtown, but it's so gloomy outside...
So instead, we can still bake something good. :)

Like Valentine's Day is coming, so on our FB page I share dessert ideas every day untill the 14th! :)

Or, if You are on a diet, or just fed up with sweets. (Can it be possible? :D) Here's a cheesy, salty little baked bite for You to pamper Yourself and Your family.
Ingredients:
  • 2,5 dl = 1 cup of milk
  • 0,5 dl = 1/5 cup of water
  • 10 dkg = 2/5 cup of melted margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 g = 3/5 cup of flour
  • 2 tsp of salt
  • a pinch of white pepper
  • a pinch of red sweet paprika
  • 100 g= 2/5 cup of rasped cheese
---
  • 1 egg

Preparation:

1. Heat up the milk and pour the water to it.
2. Add the spices and the salt, the melted margarine and the 2 eggs to it.
3. Then stir it with an egg-beater, while You add the flour as well.
4. When it had reached the creamy consistency, add the previously rasped cheese, and stir the pastry till the cheese melts.

5. Wait a bit, to let it cool down.
6. Place a baking sheet on a flat baking tray. Sprinkle flour on it.
7. Put the pastry in a foam bag. You can place a pastry tip on it, or just cut out a little hole at the end.

8. Make little puffs on the paper. (I used two big baking trays.)

9. Heat up the oven to 200 degree Celsius.
10. Mix 1 egg yolk with the egg white, and lubricate the top of the puffs with it. (It will add a nice shine on them)
11. Bake them for about 35-45 minutes.

From the outside it will be crispy, but from the inside it's like a cheesy cream, really soft! :)

Enjoy, I hope You like them. :)

xoxo: Hajni
