Happy Easter My Dear Readers! :)
I hope You were all with Your family, and friends, having a picnic, or maybe you went egg-hunting? :D
Here, the custom for Monday: for the boys, they study some little Easter poems, rhymes, and they visit the girls, douse them with buckets of water/cologne, to ensure they become good wives and bare many children.
For that, they receive beautifully decorated eggs, that girls prepared for them days before the celebration.
(But now chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies are also popular)
So, how do You celebrate Easter?
For the occasion I brought chicken and bunny cookies, for which I used cute cookie stampers. :)
Ingredients:
- 350 g = 1 + 2/5 cup of flour
- 1 tbsp of baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- 100 g= 2/5 cup of butter/margarine
- 6 tbsp of sugar
- 1 tbsp of vanilla sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp of rum flavor
- 1 tbsp of cinnamon
- half bar of white chocolate (melted)
- + 2 tbsp of cocoa
Preparation:
1. Melt the margarine/butter and mix it with all the other ingredients (except the cocoa). Melt and add the white chocolate as well to it.
2. Put one half of the pastry to another bowl, add the cocoa to it.
3. Make little balls from the pastries, have some piece from all the two kinds.
4. Place a baking sheet on a tray, and put 6-7 pastry balls on them.
5. Bake them for about 15 minutes in a preheated oven on 180 degree Celsius. Then when they are ready You can stamp figures on their surfaces, of course if You have any stamps. I ordered mines from ebay, and amazon, for less then a euro, so no big deal. :)
Enjoy!
