Hi Dears,
Christmas is on the corner, and it means only one thing --> we can eat as many gingerbreads as we can shamelessly, as we will start the diet, anyway on New Year's Day, right?
Oh yeah.
But now, I won't just eat them, I participated again, for the third time in a wonderful event here in Budapest, where we bake and share our own gingerbread houses. We place them together in an exhibition hall in the Bálna Shopping Mall, and we build a magical gingerbread-house village again. Every building has its unique style, and we can see fantastic ideas year-by-year. I am very excited to see this year's opening.
The exhibition will be open from 22-Dec until the end of February, except the days of Christmas, and on New Year's Day.
You can check their site here:
Here in the post I show my gingerbread house, and some sneak-peeks of the "placing-event" of the house.

Pretty snowy gingerbread-house
I baked the house some weeks before.
Fortunately it held up, and it didn't collapsed. :)
It turned out to be rather girly after the decoration, so I decided to add some pink cat owners to the house. (I painted the walls yellow, and its windows are small holes, I even came up with an idea that it is like cheese, so the house would attract little mice...)
Then I shaped two 3D cats from marzipan to make it more fun. I hope the kids will like them. :)
This year we got our own street sign with our names on it. It was such a cute gesture from the organizer Barbara Keresztesi, I loved the idea. ♥
Here are some more pictures of the house and the cats:
A photo from the back of the house (sorry for the quality):
The organizers take photos of every baker with their creations, then it will be presented in a slide show during the exhibition.
So here is me, with my husband with my house and street sign. :D
So this is the neighborhood of the Cats. We got a nice church, a fun-fair, some cute houses and a blue public bus next to us. I think all of them are lovely. I would like to live here myself, too. :)
